Ian Allison

Ian Allison has been in the Turf, Horticulture and Agriculture industries since 1977. As a young man, he began working at a local Golf Club, which then led to an apprenticeship as a Greenskeeper. After his training, he went on to manage multiple Golf Courses and oversaw the construction, maintenance and upkeep of turf for these clubs.

His passion for turf management then took him to OzeEcomanagement, Golf Shapes, Globe Australia and Turf Care Solutions, where he continued his work to improve turf for clients.

In 2015 he came across a new company called Greenbelt, who were trying to launch a new compost product into the industry, which was rapidly showing amazing results in the improvement of crops and soil for various schools, farms and turf clients. This is where Ian’s knowledge and expertise in the industries lead to intrigue in improving turf and crops literally from the ground up.

He then went on to launch his own partnership with Steve Zeiger to start a company that purely looks at soil from a biological perspective to improve the quality of soil in order to achieve the client’s goals; whether it be a better crop, to become more sustainable or remove harmful chemicals from soil.

Steve Zeiger

Steve has been involved in the soil rejuvenation business for 10 years and business in general his whole life. His passion and main goal for this field is to link farm profits to soil health. “Economically sustainable soil rejuvenation” has been his mantra from the beginning.

Transitioning from a chemically dependent system to a balanced biologically based system.

Steve’s forte in business is simplification and systemisation. Getting to the core issues and dealing with them instead of just tending to the symptoms. Then in turn, helping his clients do the same within their own business.

His qualifications are a Masters in Professional Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. Acquiring these subjects in his late 40’s to better understand the development of businesses around ideas in new markets. He is very passionate about soil health as it is such a leveraged area; “Soil health affects farm profits, succession, flexibility, resale value as well as impacting the environment and the nutritional value of the end product. The soil is the farm’s biggest asset and improving it has far reaching implications”.
